- Aman Maistre Julien was born on July 24, 1903 in Toulon, Var, France. He was an actor, known for La Maternelle (1933), Ne bougez plus (1941) and Monsieur Sans-Gêne (1935). He died on January 15, 2001 in Millau, Aveyron, France.
- Father of François Maistre.
- He later became director of Théâtre Sarah Bernhardt and created the 'Festival international de la ville de Paris which became le Théâtre des nations.
- Founding member of 'La compagnie des quinze' theater troupe with Suzanne Bing , Marguerite Cavadasky, Marie-Hélène Dasté , Marie Madeleine Gauthier, Auguste Bovério , Jean Dasté and Jean Villard . He also was with Jean Villard as Gilles in a singing duo called Gilles et Julien.
