Winner of Toronto International Film Festival producer of the year award in 2013, Jennifer Jonas and her company New Real Films most recently released the feature film Born to Be Blue (2015) starring Ethan Hawke by writer/director Rob Budreau, a re-imagining of the life of Jazz legend Chet Baker in the 60's. Jennifer produced Gerontophilia (2013) from writer/director Bruce LaBruce, winner of Best Canadian feature at the Festival de Nouveau Cinema 2014 in Montreal. She produced Trigger (2010) starring Molly Parker and Tracy Wright, directed by Bruce McDonald which was nominated for four Canadian Screen Awards. She produced I'm Yours (2011) starring Karine Vanasse and Rossif Sutherland, and Manson, My Name Is Evil (2009) which won a DGC Best Director prize. She produced All Hat (2007) starring Rachel Leigh Cook and Lisa Ray directed by Leonard Farlinger, Monkey Warfare (2006) starring Don McKellar, winner of a Special Jury Award at TIFF in 2006 and A Perfect Son (2000) , starring Colm Feore and David Cubitt, which was nominated for two Best Actor Genie Awards. Jennifer began her career as a first assistant director on Francois Girard's Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould (1993) and Oscar winner The Red Violin (1998).
