The folks over at The Asylum are back at it again with brand new action-horror movie Planetquake, and much like Sharktopus, well, the title for this one kind of speaks for itself.
Watch the official trailer for director Monroe Robertson’s Planetquake below.
In the low-budget disaster movie, “A tectonic shift deep below the Mariana Trench causes a series of ever escalating earthquakes. If a team of leading seismologists fails to stop the disaster, the events will break apart the Earth, resulting in billions of casualties.”
Michael Paré, Erica Duke, and Anthony Jensen star.
Planetquake will be playing in select theaters from January 26 – February 1, with locations including Laemmle Monica (LA), Hickory Ridge Cinemas, Trylon Cinema, O Cinema South Beach, and Aurora Complex.
The film also comes home to Digital platforms on January 26.

Those mockbuster makers at The Asylum are at it again. When the first live-action Transformers movie was released back in 2007, The Asylum got in on the giant robot action by releasing a movie called Transmorphers. The Transformers sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen followed in 2009 – so The Asylum responded with the Transmorphers prequel Transmorphers: Fall of Man. Since then, the Transformers franchise has continued to grow. There was Transformers: Dark of the Moon in 2011, Transformers: Age of Extinction in 2014, Transformers: The Last Knight in 2017, and the spin-off prequel Bumblebee in 2018. Another prequel, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, is in theatres right now. And while The Asylum has let several Transformers movies come and go without meeting them with a Transmorphers mockbuster, this year they’re finally reviving the franchise with Transmorphers: Mech Beasts! You can watch the film’s trailer in the embed above.

2022 marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the independent film production and distribution company The Asylum, the company known for bringing us some of the craziest giant monster and mockbuster movies out there. And they’ve decided to celebrate their anniversary by putting together what is basically the Avengers: Endgame of Asylum movies. A film that sees the human race having to deal with multiple Asylum movie monsters at once – and it even acknowledges that these monsters have been pulled into our reality straight out of Asylum movies! This Asylum multiverse mash-up is called 2025 Armageddon, and you can see for the trailer for it in the embed above.
Directed by Michael Su (Death Count) from a screenplay written by Marc Gottlieb (Aquarium of the Dead), 2025 Armageddon has the following synopsis: A militant alien race launches an attack on Earth using gigantic creatures and geological disasters all based on those found on The...

Reed’s Point reunites several of the people behind 2018’s D-Railed, including director Dale Fabrigar (They Crawl Beneath), and co-writer Suzanne DeLaurentiis (Area 401) who wrote the script along with Sandy Lo and Tricia Aurand (Middleton Christmas). I found it to be a fun mash-up of monsters, ghosts, and a heist gone wrong. So a film from them about The Jersey Devil seemed like it had a chance to be the first film about the creature to actually be good.
It starts with Kelsey (Madison Ekstrand) her boyfriend Alex (Evan Adams; The Wrong Valentine) and cousin Sarah (Sasha Anne) joining Kelsey’s father Greg on a business Rv trip. However, on the way to pick up the client, the driver swerves to avoid a deer and crashes.

Written by Everette Wallin, Suzanne DeLaurentiis and Dale Fabrigar and directed by Fabrigar, D-Railed is a mystery set on a train that crashes into a river. The sinking train isn’t the only thing for the survivors to worry about though, because there’s a monster in the murky depths who wants some dinner, too. It’s a murder mystery on a train… but with a difference and some added horror to pump up the tension a bit.
This one intrigued me because the whole plot sounded so crazy to me, like a bunch of ideas all tossed into one movie. The problem with throwing so many things at the wall though,...

It had to happen didn’t it. First we had Zombeavers, then Zoombies and its sequel and now the zombie plague hits sea life with Aquarium of the Dead – the latest undead horror from The Asylum. Of course, given this an Asylum release, the timing couldn’t be more perfect – after all once you’ve seen an Army of the Dead you’re going to want to see an aquarium full of them too right?!

"Something is up with the animals." The Asylum has just released an official trailer for one of their latest ridiculous B-movie horrors called Aquarium of the Dead, which is arriving direct-to-dvd (because that's the right release for this) in May this year. This is actually a sort-of-sequel to director Glenn Miller's other Asylum zombie animal movies Zoombies and Zoombies 2. Surprise – there is not much of a plot here: a scientific accident causes creatures to become zombies. But I'd rather enjoy this as a revenge tale for all the sea animals captured and thrown into aquariums finally getting back at the asshole humans who put them there. The cast includes Vivica A. Fox, D.C. Douglas, Erica Duke, Eva Ceja, Anthony Jensen, Anna Telfer, Jeffery Thomas Johnson, and Rishi Arya. This has zombie sharks, octopus, crabs, fish, and oh yes, a zombie walrus (finally vengeance for Tusk!) and starfish, too. Whatever you do,...
