Beside her critically acclaimed roles in three movies, she has been the leading actress in three stage productions at Munich Kammerspiele: "Antigone", "Die Nibelungen" and "Die zehn Gebote" since 2004.

Has been an ensemble member of the Munich Kammerspiele since 2001.

According to an interview in Süddeutsche Zeitung, she hates being in the center of attention because the ensemble of a project is always more important than her person.

She and Lena Stolze won the Film Award in Gold at the German Film Awards as "Best Actress" for portraying Sophie Scholl

Graduated from the Waldoberschule in Berlin.

For her performance in Sophie Scholl: The Final Days (2005), she was the first of three consecutive German winners of the Silver Bear for Best Actress at Berlin Film Festival: she was followed by by Sandra Hüller in Requiem (2006) and Nina Hoss in Yella (2007).

Studied at the Drama School "Ernst Busch" in Berlin from 1997 to 2001.

Parents are lawyers.
