Knowing that nothing freaks out a soap fan faster than hearing the words, “Today, the role of [insert character’s name here] will be played by [anyone but the actor who played the role yesterday],” we wouldn’t want to be Jason Thompson right about now.
Though he’s been immensely popular as General Hospital’s Patrick Drake, he’ll soon be joining The Young and the Restless as Billy Abbott, the rich playboy whose previous portrayers include Daytime Emmy winners David Tom and Billy Miller (who, ironically, replaced Y&R’s Steve Burton as Gh’s Jason Morgan) and Burgess Jenkins.

Catch the trailer and the poster for Mark Freiburger's Jimmy, starring Ian Colletti, Ted Levine, Patrick Fabian and Kelly Carlson. The drama's scheduled to find release on June 4th, 2013 and is based on the novel by Robert Whitlow. Jimmy tells of a mentally challenged teenager (Colletti) who interacts with supernatural beings he calls "Watchers". Also in the cast are Bob Gunton, Burgess Jenkins, Stelio Savante, Chuck Carrington, Sharon Lawrence and Gregory Alan Williams. I must say, the trailer's quite moving, and I certainly would recommend catching this film, which looks to have its share of thrills, drama, compassion, love and perseverance.

Though it was still performing well, it looked like Army Wives was going to be cancelled last year. Lifetime brought it back but with some cast changes. Will the new stories and characters be well-received by fans or is it time for the venerable drama to say goodbye? We'll have to wait and see.

As happens on actual military bases, the names and faces of some "Army Wives" are changing.
When the Lifetime drama series begins its seventh season Sunday, March 10, an obvious absence will be that of founding cast member Kim Delaney ... with the departure of her character, Claudia Joy Holden, explained very early in the run. Longtime co-stars Sally Pressman and Sterling K. Brown are recurring now, but at the same time, the show is getting an influx of performers both new and familiar.
Torrey DeVitto ("Pretty Little Liars," "The Vampire Diaries") plays a veteran of three tours of duty in Iraq, now opting for domestic life with her staff sergeant husband (Burgess Jenkins); singer-actress Ashanti appears as a mother of three whose husband (Joshua Henry) serves overseas; Jesse McCartney, who also has dual careers in singing and acting, portrays a new soldier eager to make his mark; and Elle McLemore is cast as the latter's new,...

Ever wondered how actor and singer Jesse McCartney might look in uniform? Fans of the Lifetime series Army Wives will find out when season seven kicks off this year. McCartney will act as Private Tim Truman.
Season seven of Army Wives is already taking shape. As I recently reported, actor Burgess Jenkins will play Maggie’s husband, Staff Sgt. Eddie Hall and Tony Award nominee, Joshua Henry, has been cast as Quincy, Latasha’s husband. Maggie is Torrey DeVitto and Ashanti is Latasha, by the way. There’s lot’s of new characters and all new drama in store.
Now, THR reports that Jesse McCartney has also been cast. His is a recurring role. The actor who has enjoyed stints on Greek, Summerland and All My Children, will play a very motivated, “enthusiastic” young soldier. This should be good to watch because McCartney has been nominated for two Daytime Emmy Awards and a Grammy.

"Awkward" is getting two new additions for Season 3: Anthony Michael Hall, "Breakfast Club" alum, and Nolan Funk, best known as Warbler Hunter on "Glee," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Hall will play Mr. Hart, "a sadistic creative writing teacher" and an important part of Season 3, THR reports. Funk, meanwhile, will play Collin James, a confident new prep school transfer.
"The driving force of Season 3 will be 'Who do I want to be?' and making a choice in the decision of identity," "Awkward" creator Lauren Iungerich told The Hollywood Reporter.

Nashville finally premiered Wednesday night on ABC, and if you weren't like me, this was probably your first time watching the new hit compared to three or four times. Is there really any shame in admitting that? Not at all. Especially when it comes to this new series starring Connie Britton and Hayden Panettiere. Though so many may have compared the show to Gwyneth Paltrow's Country Strong at first, that should all be put to rest by now. With a Friday Night Lights alum, country roots, competition, affairs and singing to boot, there's no way Nashville won't catapult into being considered the best new drama this season.
Here's 5 reasons why you should stay tuned (besides just the music):
1. Connie Britton
There should be a front seat with her name on it for the next several Emmy award shows. Without a doubt, Britton has nailed herself yet another fantastic role on television.

It’s here and you’ve been waiting for it. It’s Nashville. We are first introduced to Rayna James (Connie Britton) the reigning queen of country music when she’s chasing her children with rollers in her hair. She’s a regular Reba Martina Faith Shania sorta thang. Her husband, Teddy (Eric Close) swoops in to take the kids.
“Why does mom have to go to work? I thought we were rich,” asks one small human.
“We are but now we’re a different kind of rich called ‘cash poor.’” But so rich in charisma.
We cut to Rayna on stage at the Grand Ole Opry and listen guys, Connie Britton is doing her own singing. I know this because I read an article about it and she said she did. She also said she played Dolly Gallagher Levi in Hello, Dolly! in high school. So we can all relate to Connie Britton.

A serial killer hunts down a woman who witnessed him in the midst of a murder and tracks her down to a building that is locked down during the middle of a power outage.
Ok, so the story does need a bit (or maybe a lot) of work. However, that doesn't take away from the fact that Fall Down Dead does an admirable job of creating this unnerving atmosphere. Udo Kier does make for a genuinely creepy antagonist in a memorable performance. Fall Down Dead does a solid job of using dark, empty corridors to create unease.
