- Georg Hurdalek was born on February 6, 1908 in Görlitz, Germany. He was a writer and assistant director, known for The Sound of Music (1965), Roses for the Prosecutor (1959) and Der große Zapfenstreich (1952). He was married to Barbara Eff and Eva Ingeborg Scholz. He died on June 15, 1980 in Munich, Bavaria, West Germany.

- German author, screenwriter and director, a former stage actor. He became an assistant film director in 1934, but subsequently concentrated chiefly on writing screenplays. He is particularly noted for his work on the satirical Roses for the Prosecutor (1959) and (in collaboration with Helmut Käutner) the powerful wartime drama The Devil's General (1955).
