Lauded filmmaker Alma Har’el has again brought her distinctive documentarian’s eye to her latest effort, the genre-bending feature “LoveTrue.” After winning Tribeca’s Best Documentary Feature Award in 2011 for her remarkable and similarly boundary-pushingdebut, “Bombay Beach,” the filmmaker screened work-in-progress selections from “LoveTrue” at Tff 2015. The film is now available — thanks to Netflix — and it’s a spell-binding wonder that compellingly explores some very big questions.
“Love is…never as it seems,” subject Will Hunt a.k.a Coconut Willie, opines in the opening of our exclusive clip, which might as well be the tagline for the entire film. The feature-length doc follows three very different love stories around the country — from Alaska to Hawaii all the way to New York City — to get to the heart of what it really means to love someone.

With his only appearance on the big screen this year coming in the farty indie movie “Swiss Army Man,” it might seem like Paul Dano has been laying low. But the actor is now filming his directorial debut “Wildlife,” and next year, he’ll be in homes across the globe in Bong Joon-Ho‘s Netflix-produced flick “Okja.” And once he’s done with this work behind the camera, Dano is starting to line up projects that’ll bring him in front of the camera.

If you needed another reason to love Adam Levine, here it is. On Saturday, Adam made a sick 16-year-old boy's dream come true when he responded to the teen's amazing cover of Maroon 5's "She Will Be Loved" after he underwent heart surgery. The boy's name is Will Hunt, and he sang the song while in the intensive care unit of Vanderbilt Children's Hospital in Nashville. In the now-viral video, Will plays the keyboard and sings while sitting next to his dad on a hospital bed. His brother, Mac Hunt, captured the moment and shared it on Twitter on Friday writing, "Currently my 16 yr old brother is dealing with heart failure and is at Vanderbilt Hospital. Just thought I would share @Willhunt190 love u." After getting ahold of the video, Adam reposted it to his account, and wrote, "It's hard to express with words what it feels like to...

People combat the stress of surgery in different ways.
For Will Hunt, from Chattanooga, Tennessee, Maroon 5 helped.
Specifically their song “She Will Be Loved,” which he performed live from the ICU last week. The 16-year-old’s performance was captured on YouTube and Twitter and is currently making the rounds on social media. Will’s brother Mac was the cameraman for the performance; both are students at The McCallie School, a private prep school for boys in Chattanooga.
Hunt is battling cardiomyopathy â. a disease of the heart muscle â. and has been scheduled for two surgeries at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

How awful. After news broke on Jan. 16 that Jessi’s ex was charged with alleged rape on accusations made by her, there was an outpouring of support for the beautiful Vine star — but unfortunately there is also a sizable group of people attacking her and accusing her of making it all up.
We’re starting to see the dark underbelly of fandom in the alleged rape case between Vine stars and former lovers Jessi Smiles and Curtis Lepore. When Jami Helander debuted his Christmas horror film Rare Exports stateside in December of 2010, it was the creative calling card of a new genre talent. Rare Exports was a wild yet warm-hearted throwback to the days of Amblin Studios, telling the story of a young boy and his reindeer herding family who take on the monstrous Santa Claus of Lapland folklore. That film, and the hilarious shorts that inspired it, have become a holiday staple in my house and I’ve been anxiously awaiting whatever Helander tried next. Two years later, his next project is finally coming together and it sounds like a doozy.
Twitch reports that Helander has been gestating an idea in the aftermath of Rare Exports that he described as ‘Home Alone meets Rambo’, an enticing mash-up if there ever was one. With the funding now set for that picture, Helander is preparing to start production on it in September.

Bryan Fuller is looking for a pretty big name to join "Hannibal" in Season 2. Zap2it can reveal exclusively that the "Hannibal" showrunner plans to reach out to David Bowie for a major role if NBC gives a second season the green light.
"I guess my dream casting for the show would be to cast David Bowie as Hannibal Lecter's uncle," Fuller tells Getty Images Entertainment, courtesy of Zap2it. "If we get a second season I will reach out and see if there is any interest."
Bowie clearly has a love for Hannibal Lecter's storyline, as he attended the "Hannibal" movie premiere back in 2001. For those of you hoping this casting pans out, Fuller says things are looking pretty good.

In the bleak midwinter (or whatever you call this part of January; there’s snow on the ground and it’s super-cold here and the heat’s not working, is all I know) we could all use a little cheering up, and a reminder that there’s more to the world than ice and the howling wind.
In fact, there are people! Friendly, cheerful, sociable (and warm!) people, just waiting to be our friends or date us or possibly some combination of the two. But it can be easy to forget there are other people out there when it’s so cold all you want to do is stay inside huddled under a fleece blanket and a barskin cloak (what? That’s just me? Oh.). And when you do eventually venture out from under your space heater that you’ve hung directly above your bed (to accompany the ones on either side of it,...

You could say that Jeanne Tripplehorn is feeling Big Love for her new TV role, on CBS’ Criminal Minds — this despite the at-times grisly subject matter at the heart of a series about serial killers and those who track them.
Making her debut in the Season 8 premiere (airing tonight at 9/8c), Tripplehorn plays Agent Alex Blake, a forensics linguist expert who, when the action picks up, has already been with the Bau for several weeks. She’s got Hotch’s vote, knew Reid before boarding the team and enjoys a difficult past with Strauss. Now there’s just the matter of winning over Garcia,...

A few months ago, I was sitting in a bar in Nashville watching Amy Lee play Ping-Pong. This was amazing for several reasons, the least of which was the fact that she was actually pretty good.
Because while the image of Lee — frequently corseted dark princess of hard rock — clutching a tiny racquet certainly threw me for a loop, it was the action around her that really struck me. Her bandmates were sitting at a nearby table, cracking jokes with the road crew, cheering whenever she cracked a return volley over the net or caught the corner of the table with an arcing lob shot. Lee was laughing and taunting her opponent, who just so happened to be her husband,...

There are some bands that never seem to lose their popularity. Whether this is due to them appealing to an enduring audience, or that they possess an aura and a sound that attracts certain ages and tastes, or even if it’s because of the simple fact that they churn out quality material again and again, their popularity means that they’ve managed to do what many bands try and fail at. And that is: they’ve made a success out of themselves and have the ability to create music that remains popular through the years.
Evanescence is one of these bands. Their first album, ‘Fallen’, released in 2003, was hugely popular and propelled the band to fame almost immediately. It sold more than 15 million copies worldwide, is one of 8 albums in the history of the Billboard chart to spend at least a year in its top 50 (it spent 104 weeks) and was certified Platinum status 7 times.

Soundtrack album of "The Twilight Saga's Breaking Dawn Part I" has got an official release date. The compilation CD is set to hit the stores in the United States on November 8, ten days before the movie arrives in theaters across the country.
The songs included in the album remain under wraps, but it was reported that "Sister Rosetta (Capture the Spirit)" performed by Noisettes might make the cut. The rumor emerged after Bella's pre-wedding clip was shown at San Diego Comic-Con with the track featured as a backsound.
Last month, Evanescence revealed their hope to land their song in the album. "I've been screaming for [new song] 'My Heart Is Broken' to land in that, because I think it would fit the story so well. I got sucked into the 'Twilight' vortex by the girls at home, so by default, I've got to watch it," said drummer Will Hunt.

MTV has the latest scoop from Evanescence, who it turns out – really, really want to be included on the upcoming Breaking Dawn soundtrack. Frontwoman Amy Lee explained how she she got into the first Twilight book and was soon a big fan, but unlike the rest of her band, she’s Team Jacob. Check out the interview below:
Twilight mention starts at about 4:20 into the interview.
And, as they told MTV News after the premiere of “What You Want,” scoring a slot on the upcoming “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1″ soundtrack is definitely a goal this time out.
“I’ve been screaming for [new song] ‘My Heart Is Broken’ to land in that, because I think it would fit the story so well,” drummer Will Hunt said. “I got sucked into the ‘Twilight’ vortex by the girls at home, so by default, I’ve got to watch it.”
“I think that would be awesome, actually,” frontwoman Amy Lee added.
It’s not like Evanescence haven’t tried to get on a “Twilight” soundtrack in the past, but for whatever reason, it never panned out. And it was because of those early attempts that they’d love to be included in the next film. … Simply put, Lee has become invested in the story, and she’s not afraid to admit it.
“Fine, I read the books; everybody hates me now,” Lee laughed. “I didn’t watch the first movie — I was like, ‘Yeah, whatever. I got over vampires in high school’ — then they were like, ‘Maybe you should write a song for the movie,’ so I read the book and I wrote some songs, and it didn’t work out because they have all these cool hipster people that are doing the ‘Twilight’ stuff. But then I was kind of into it, so I read the next books.”
And after reading the books, Lee actually found herself at odds with her bandmates, most of whom are avowed members of Team Edward. Seems she’s got a soft spot for the frequently shirtless werewolf, though not for reasons you’d probably expect.
“Jacob [is my favorite], for sure,” she said. “He’s the good guy, he’s the sweetheart.”

Evanescence have sold millions of albums, toured the world and won a pair of Grammys, but there's still one accomplishment that has, to this point, managed to elude them: a coveted spot on a "Twilight" soundtrack.
It's sort of hard to believe, given everything they've achieved, and the fact that their music seems tailor-made for Stephenie Meyer's series. And perhaps you could chalk it all up to the band's lack of activity in recent years, but now, with a new album waiting in the wings and a brand-new single just let off the leash, there's really no excuse.

Evanescence are set to return in October with their first album in more than five years, according to frontwoman/mastermind Amy Lee.
In a new interview with Billboard, Lee says that the follow-up to the band's multiplatinum The Open Door is nearly complete — they're putting the finishing touches on it in Nashville — and is scheduled to hit stores on October 4 through the band's longtime label, Wind-up Records.
And, as is the case with seemingly everything Evanescence, there was certainly no shortage of drama surrounding its creation ... including an 18-month hiatus Lee took from the group at the conclusion of the Door touring cycle.

Los Angeles, CA, United States (Ahn Entertainment) - Evanescence are officially heading back into the recording studio for their first album in five years, and their first album with its new member line-up.
Singer Amy Lee, joined by guitarist Terry Balsamo, bassists Tim McCord, and drummer Will Hunt, are set to go into the studio with Grammy-winning record producer Nick Raskulinecz, who has produced for Foo Fighters, Deftones, and more.
"We can't wait to show everyone what we've been working on! We've written more than an album of songs," said Amy Lee. "We've been finding ourselves, reinventing our sound, experimenting with things we've never done before and at the same time embracing the things we love most about Evanescence."
"This journey has made us the strongest we've ever been as a band, and I am in love with the music," she added. "Nick Rasculinecz is the perfect fit for this...

When you think of a man of brawn who can outwit the ruthless Predator, you think of two men: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Adrien Brody. What, you didn't picture that last one? Well, Robert Rodriguez and Nimrod Antal did. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brody and Topher Grace are both set to join Alice Braga, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, Walt Goggins, Danny Trejo and Oleg Taktarov in Predators, a franchise reboot of sorts that will follow several of earth's "killers" who are kidnapped and dropped on the Predator's home planet for a game of hide, seek and be brutally murdered.
All joking aside, Brody and Grace's unassuming demeanors will be a big part of their characters. Brody will play a soldier forced to become a leader (presumably because the Predator killed the old one), but is fit for the job because he's "a hunter of men." Grace will play a nerdy, accountant...

From wrasslers to ballerinas...
Last month, we learned that Natalie Portman was going to star in Darren Aronofsky's next film, Black Swan. The plot:a veteran ballerina competes against "a rival dancer, with the stakes and twists increasing as the dancers approach a big performance." Oh, and throw a little supernatural flavor for good measure. Well, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the rival will be played by Forgetting Sarah Marshall's Mila Kunis, and that bit of strangeness: this rival "might or might not be a figment of the dancer's imagination."
Frankly, this sound amazing, when one thinks of the range and success of Aronofsky's work -- math, drugs, strange time travel in space, wrestling... But I'm now torn on the casting -- mainly because of Kunis and Portman's vague resemblance to Summer Glau. Okay, so you need at least one big name to help fuel the film. But a...
