- Chris Hummel made his life debut in Shawnee Mission, Kansas June of 1964. Moving to Pittsford, New York in 1971 he developed an early visual temperament and love for entertaining the neighborhood with his father's 35mm film projector. The son of a Kodak executive, Chris graduated with a degree in Design from Buffalo State Collage.
Chris's talent directed him to the west coast where he was recruited by several visual effects companies over a number of years to work on such feature film projects as Coneheads, Son of the Pink Panther, Batman Forever and commercial projects for Mitsubishi, British Air and CBS. Walt Disney Feature Animation grabbed him to work on such feature films as Hercules, Dinosaur, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, Lilo & Stitch and Brother Bear.
Chris has also worked with leading artists on feature film projects including Exorcist: The Beginning, The Ant Bully, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Action News 5, The Whisper Home, Free Birds and True Lies. His work on True Lies contributed to the films nomination by The Academy of Motion Pictures Art and Sciences for best Visual Effects in 1994.
Chris made his directorial debut with The Guardians for Ruff House Productions in 2010 serving as the artistic and technical leader for all preproduction, production, post, marketing and distribution.
His awards continued in 2013 with the VES Award for Best Visual Effects in a Special Venue production for Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem 3D at Universal Studios Florida.
Chris is always challenging his art and boundaries with new technologies and efforts to express his vision for entertainment and after 20+ years in the entertainment industry, his eyes are to the future with desires to tackle new projects and horizons.
