- DirectorChris WeitzPaul WeitzStarsHugh GrantNicholas HoultToni ColletteWill, who attends single parent meetings to woo women, meets Marcus, a troubled 12-year-old boy. As they become friends, Will learns to be responsible while he helps Marcus with his studies.I thoroughly enjoyed FOUR WEDDINGS & A FUNERAL. Then I vaguely enjoyed NINE MONTHS (please don't think less of me). Then Hugh cheated on the divine Miss Hurley and like many people, I lost all respect for him. Then I was forced to watch ABOUT A BOY against my will and I found myself enjoying it so much that I instantly forgave Hugh for not wanting to disrespect Liz's mouth and opting to insert his member in the mouth of a hideous prozzie instead. Quite frankly Liz should be ashamed of herself for being so high-maintenance. Get ya gob round it Lizzie!
PLEASE NOTE: I apologise if I sound crass for the sake of crass... but you've obviously got me all wrong... I really am this shallow :p - DirectorMichael WinterbottomStarsSteve CooganJeremy NorthamRob BrydonDirector Michael Winterbottom (Northam) attempts to shoot the adaptation of Laurence Sterne's essentially unfilmable novel, "The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman."Directed by Michael Winterbottom, TRISTRAM SHANDY stars that guy who got blown up at the start of TROPIC THUNDER and that dude from THE WORST WEEK OF MY LIFE (Fact Check Required). If you enjoyed THE TRIP, you'll love A COCK AND BULL STORY. If you've never seen THE TRIP... I've got some homework for you :)
- DirectorMark MylodStarsSacha Baron CohenEmilio RiveraGina La PianaAli G unwittingly becomes a pawn in the Chancellor's plot to overthrow the Prime Minister of Great Britain. However, Ali is embraced by the nation as a voice of the youth, making the PM and his government more popular than ever.Isn't it?
- DirectorIan MacNaughtonStarsJohn CleeseMichael PalinGraham ChapmanAn anthology of the best sketches from the first and second seasons of Monty Python's Flying Circus (1969).Adopt, adapt and improve. Motto of the round table. Well... just a pair of panties then please.
- DirectorSteve GordonStarsDudley MooreLiza MinnelliJohn GielgudAlcoholic billionaire playboy Arthur Bach must marry a woman he does not love, or he will be cut off from his $750,000,000 fortune. But when Arthur falls in love with a poor waitress, he must decide if he wants to choose love or money. The remake with Russell Brand is also rather good... in my opinion. Don't be deterred if you disagree :p
- DirectorRay CameronStarsKenny EverettVincent PricePamela StephensonSix scientists investigate a strange phenomenon at the creepy Headstone Manor, the site of a mysterious massacre years earlier that took the lives of 18 guests in one night. It's very out-dated... it's very silly... and it's very good... in a bad way. A tender-loving horror spoof with brilliant performances from everyone involved, especially the late great Kenny Everett, particularly the later greater Vincent Price (who'd probably prefer that we forgot all about this film) and specifically Dr Pamela Stephenson (aka Mrs Billy Connelly) in a rather revealing role. There's nothing funny about rape... unless you're being raped by a ghost who's got all the right moves.
- DirectorRichard CurtisStarsPhilip Seymour HoffmanBill NighyNick FrostA band of rogue DJs that captivated Britain, playing the music that defined a generation and standing up to a government that wanted classical music, and nothing else, on the airwaves. Many people consider this to be one of Richard Curtis' weaker efforts. Firstly, they initially said the same thing about LOVE, ACTUALLY. Secondly, the cast is beyond brilliant. Thirdly, the Pirate Radio story needed to be told. Fourthly, the soundtrack is awesome... because "Love Is All Around Me" isn't on it :p
In my opinion, it probably didn't fare too well at the box office or with the critics because women aren't exactly portrayed in the best light. They're all fickle, heartless sluts... except for the lesbian :D
TRIPPY TRIVIA: Did you know that Smooth Bob from the early EARLY morning slot is also Del Preston from Wayne's World 2?
"But the shopkeeper and his son... that was a different story all together. I had to beat them to death with their own shoes." - DirectorPaul KingStarsEdward HoggSimon FarnabyVerónica EcheguiA young shut-in takes an imaginary road trip inside his apartment, based on mementos and memories of a European trek from years before. From the fabulous freaks behind THE MIGHTY BOOSH comes this surreal tale that's well worth a bash. Starring Edward Hogg & Simon Farnaby with special appearances by Boosh's best and brightest including; Richard Ayoade, Julian Barratt, Noel Fielding & Rich Fulcher.
- DirectorMark BussellJustin SbresniStarsAlexander ArmstrongDarren BoydAnna ChancellorThe assistant manager of a seaside hotel is left to run the building over the Christmas period. It's about time the Brit's had their own equivalent of NATIONAL LAMPOON'S CHRISTMAS VACATION to repeat ad nauseum during the festive season... ummm... besides LOVE, ACTUALLY :s
Starring Alexander Armstrong (I'm pretty sure he's "Armstrong" from The Armstrong & Miller Show), Darren Boyd (The guy who should have received an Oscar for his portrayal of John Cleese in Holy Flying Circus), Anna Chancellor (Duck-Face from Four Weddings & A Funeral), Barbara Flynn (Fitz's cracking wife from Cracker), Sam Kelly (Manny's Moo-Pa from Black Books), Tim Key (The piss-funny chap who simply cannot believe that Warwick Davis wasn't in Time Bandits), Alex MacQueen (Neil's "Bumder" of a father from The Inbetweeners), Katherine Parkinson (From half the British comedies worth mentioning) & Peter Vaughan (The old man who poos on the young man's hand in Death At A Funeral) :D - DirectorPaul Andrew WilliamsStarsAndy SerkisReece ShearsmithJennifer EllisonA woman is kidnapped for ransom and brought to a rural English cottage. David and his two henchman find that they have much more to worry about than her crime boss stepdad.WARNING: THIS IS A PITCH BLACK HORROR COMEDY!
It starts out like a really funny Guy Ritchie film but it soon turns out to be like a really unfunny Tobe Hooper film.
Starring Andy Serkis (Gollum & King Kong), Reece Shearsmith (The League Of Gentlemen & Psychoville) with Steven O'Donnell (Spudgun from Bottom) & a special appearance by Doug Bradley (Pinhead). See if you can spot him.
ONE WORD: "MOTHS" ;)

- DirectorTerry JonesStarsTim RobbinsJohn CleeseMickey RooneyErik the Viking and his men travel across the sea to find Valhalla to ask the gods to end the Age of Ragnarok.FUN FACT: Based on a bunch of stories that MONTY PYTHON's Terry Jones concocted to entertain his kids.
FUNNER FACT: Terry also wrote the screenplay for a little flick known as LABYRINTH.
FUNNEST FACT: Tim "Shawshank" Robbins who plays the lead role of Erik often hosts "FOUR LIONS PARTIES" because he loves that movie so much :D - DirectorCrispian MillsChris HopewellStarsSimon PeggPaul FreemanAmara KaranA crime novelist whose research on Victorian serial killers has turned him into a paranoid wreck must confront his worst fears when a film executive takes a sudden interest in his movie script. If you enjoy this film, I strongly recommend HAUNTED HONEYMOON with GENE WILDER... and/or vice versa.
- DirectorRobert YoungFred SchepisiStarsJohn CleeseJamie Lee CurtisKevin KlineZookeepers struggle to deal with the policies of changing directors.A FISH CALLED WANDA was a hard act to follow. If you think you're so bloody hilarious, why don't you try collaborating with geniuses and then reuniting a decade later to make something better?! I'd like to see you try :p
- DirectorIan FitzgibbonStarsDylan MoranMark DohertyKeith AllenA broke, jobless actor and a broke, jobless screenwriter set out to make a movie and then find that life starts imitating art. It's got Dylan Moran in it. Nuff said?
- DirectorChristopher MorrisStarsWill AdamsdaleRiz AhmedAdeel AkhtarFour incompetent British terrorists set out to train for and commit an act of terror. An instant classic conceived by my Facebook chums Jesse Armstrong & Sam Bain who created PEEP SHOW & FRESH MEAT.
Check out my description of ERIK THE VIKING. - DirectorMike NewellStarsHugh GrantAndie MacDowellJames FleetOver the course of five social occasions, a committed bachelor must consider the notion that he may have discovered love.Hugh should've got married to Fiona (Kristen Scott Thomas) and told Carrie (Andie MacDowell) and Duck-Face (Anna Chancellor) to totally go *beep* themselves. Although having said that... the whole "agreeing not to marry me thing" is relatively good too. I'll allow it.
Btw SPOILER ALERT :p - DirectorGareth CarrivickStarsChris O'DowdMarc WoottonDean Lennox KellyWhile drinking at their local pub, three social outcasts attempt to navigate a time-travel conundrum.A rather unique and underrated Sci-Fi Pom-Com featuring Chris O'Dowd (The IT Crowd, Bridesmaids, This is 40), Marc Wootton (Nighty Night, Gavin & Stacey, Way To Go), Dean Lennox Kelly (The Worst Week Of My Life, Shameless, Frankie) and Anna Faris (Sacry Movie, House Bunny, I Give It A Year).
- DirectorJon WrightStarsKillian CoyleStuart GrahamMichael HoughWhen an island off the coast of Ireland is invaded by bloodsucking aliens, the heroes discover that getting drunk is the only way to survive. An underrated little gem starring Richard Coyle (Jeff Murdoch from Coupling). Imagine if the only way to avoid an inexplicable alien-esque attack... was to attack your own liver and get totally $h!+-faced?
- DirectorAdrian EdmondsonStarsRik MayallAdrian EdmondsonBill NighyRichie and Eddie, a perverted loser and his alcoholic partner-in-crime, run the worst hotel in Britain: the Guest House Paradiso.Do I really need to add a description?
It's 4.5 stars worth of Rik & Ade at their absolute best with memorable early performances by Vincent Cassel, Bill Nighy & Simon Pegg.
PLEASE NOTE: I've deducted half a star because the last 10-odd minutes worth of the film where everyone is spewing uncontrollably is a tad too silly for my liking. I expect more sophisticated humour from Rik & Ade :p
"Oh and... have... a... nice... day." - DirectorGarth JenningsStarsMartin FreemanYasiin BeySam RockwellMere seconds before the Earth is to be demolished by an alien construction crew, journeyman Arthur Dent is swept off the planet by his friend Ford Prefect, a researcher penning a new edition of "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy."If you're a die-hard fan of the original books/series then I can understand why you might feel slightly cheated by this Hollywood-ized big screen adaptation... but I still reckon it's well worth probing.
- DirectorJustin KerriganStarsJohn SimmLorraine PilkingtonShaun ParkesFive youngsters embrace the 90s clubbing scene on a drug-fuelled weekend of partying in Cardiff.Possibly the best film ever made about the ecstasy culture.
NICE ONE BRUVVA!!! SAFE AS *beep* - DirectorDan MazerStarsRose ByrneRafe SpallAlex MacqueenNewlywed couple Nat and Josh are deliriously happy despite their differences, though friends and family aren't convinced that they can last. With their first anniversary approaching and attractive alternatives in the mix, can they last?Hands down the Best British Romantic Comedy since the last Best British Romantic Comedy :p
- DirectorBen PalmerStarsJames BuckleyBlake HarrisonJoe ThomasFour socially troubled 18-year-olds from the south of England go on holiday to Malia.A lot of Inbetweeners fans seemed to be disappointed by this big screen outing but my only complaint was that they tried too hard to give the characters depth. Apart from that I reckon it was well wicked.
