About a woman whose life is almost ruined by the insinuations of a small-town gossip and a brother who falls in with bad company. The film ends with the woman being saved by her upstanding physician husband, whom she meets when her theatre troupe becomes stranded in the town.

After she marries Jack Valentine, Janie Wakefield ( Dorothy Gish ) discovers that her husband's reputation as a flirt is well deserved when she sees him riding in a taxi with a strange woman. Janie hesitates to believe that the man was Jack until he falls victim to the wiles of a fascinating widow who lives across the hall. After a tempestuous scene, Janie decides to forgive him until she overhears Jack making a date with a manicurist. The irate Janie returns to her father and, accepting a position in his Wall Street firm, becomes a successful businesswoman. Jack begs her to return, but only after he threatens suicide does Janie decide that her husband has been remodel-led.

Konia Markham, the daughter of an American father and a Hawaiian mother, is told by a sorceress that the man who presents her with a perfect white flower will be her true love. When Bob Rutherford offers a gardenia to Konia at a banquet, rejected suitor David Panuahi becomes even more jealous and persuades Konia to have the kahuna put a death curse on Bob's fiancee, Ethel Granville. Bob's devotion to a failing Ethel softens Konia, however, and she has the curse removed. She is about to jump into a volcano when Bob, now released by Ethel from their engagement, finds her and declares his love.

Edwin Drake, disowned by his wealthy father for lack of self-sufficiency, is unable to get a job and becomes a tramp. But after a prophetic vision, he discovers his better self and his regeneration begins. He obtains a job, quickly progressing to a key position. At the same time, Sarah Holmes is being taught to think positively by her friend, The Professor. Quite by accident, she meets Mrs. Drake, who takes a liking to her and treats her as her own daughter. One day Mrs. Drake is lamenting about her estranged son and shows Sarah a picture of Edwin. Sarah recognizes him as the young man who lives in her boardinghouse. She arranges for Mrs. Drake to be reunited with her now successful son, and eventually she becomes Mrs. Drake's daughter-in-law.

From this most simple tale we have produced a play that is both pleasing and amusing to young and old, introducing as we do many surprising tricks and dissolving effects. We have followed as near as possible the tale of Perrault, which is well known to all, and which has been translated into all languages. We have, on account of the peculiar effects that must be introduced in animated pictures, arranged it also with humorous features, without which it would not have been so highly interesting and pleasing as a motion picture demonstration of the fairy tale. The story itself is doubtless familiar to many of our customers, and we will, therefore, not attempt to describe it in our catalogue matter, except to state that it is composed of the finest trick and dissolving effects ever introduced, and that the action is replete from start to finish with humorous, emotional and spectacular situations.

Thérèse Raquin (Gina Manès), an unhappily married woman , aided by her lover Laurent (Hans Adalbert Schlettow), drowns her husband Michaud (Charles Barrois) only to find the guilt of her sin is intolerable.

John returns from South Africa and is reunited with his daughters.
