aNOTHER Playstation Classic Game Line Up

by daniel-mannouch • Created 6 years ago • Modified 3 years ago
Well i ain't buying it for less than £25, and it looks like there's not long for me to wait on that. Part of that probably is due to the lacklustre selection, and also all that NTSC/PAL crap. According to myself and a few prominent gaming YT's, here's a better, if ultimately unrealistic, selection more emblematic of the PS1 era. BTW, £90 for 20 virtual games is ridiculous. I would add 50 here, but that would be cheating, wouldn't it? Shout out to LSD Dream Emulator, Spider-man '00 and Ghost in the Shell '97. Actually, screw realism. 50 games.

The fact that the remake and the classic were released months apart of each other should have made this a no brainer. Whilst still love the OG resi, which i feel does do atmosphere better, Resi 2 was much more of a milestone in both horror and action gameplay and is by far the most accessible of the two. This was where Resident Evil came into it's own instead of just being an updated, albeit 10x better clone of Alone in the Dark.

Much better pick than GTA which made it's name more on PC. This is true PS1. Fantastic presentation and great gameplay. A fine slice of cinematic gaming history that should not be overlooked. Since we're throwing plausibility out of the window, this would have multiplayer patched in as well.

Pro wrestling was a cultural phenomenon in the late 90's where the PS1 really picked up it's stride. Several of the best selling PS1 games were wrestling games. Therefore, SD 2, with it's pick up and play arcade style, as well as a formative step in the design of wrestling video games, deserves a spot.
