The Depression Princess

This excellent short shows us the human being behind the performance

The Depression Princess, an 8 minute short I watched on YouTube, introduced me to a drag performer in a way that left me wanting more. That's a compliment to the performer and to the filmmakers. So much is revealed about the man and his life in such a brief time -- his story, his family, his humanity -- that I may never again look at a performer without thinking, "What are they saying? Why are they here now? Where did they come from?" The excellent cinematography, soundtrack, and editing make the whole film much more than the sum of its parts.
