A well-crafted jewel of horror

With a running times of only 12 minutes, Sleepyman delivers a well-crafted jewel of subtle horror.

UK comedian Mike Wozniak of Taskmaster fame proves himself a dramatic actor of considerable subtlety in his portrayal of a rational man slowly losing his grip as he struggles to comprehend phenomena that defy reason.

Director John Panton and his departments get all their budget on the screen in this surprisingly sumptuous evocation of the 1890s of Emmy award-winning author David Quantick's short story.

Free on Vimeo at the moment, I hope this film wins some attention on the short film festival circuit and gets picked up by a streaming service so it finds the wider audience it deserves.
