Not getting very deep into the history, this short movie tries unsuccessfully to reach an emotional level in the viewer, by showing characters without any sort of sentiment (with the expection of the girls mother), that to my point of view ruined most of the experience. To be fair, the history really has its ups, mostly by the fact that it portrays very well to the public how the boy's mother is felling by having to raise a child on her own, especially in scenes with the guy in dog costume, by the middle of the movie.
Anyway, just watched this short movie now, because it was mentioned as one of the greatest Brazilians short movies of all time. but to me personally the time spent watching it didn't payed off, the message behind the history is clear and "well" executed, and yes is a short movie so i get the it isin't supposed to be anything beyond what is presented to you , but i most likely recommend people to watch, "Nosso parabéns ao Freitas" instead, considering this short movie has a anniversary tone on it.
