Muse of Fire

I was excited to see this. Those two had a great idea for a documentary. Unfortunately, the execution was not what was advertised.

While the premise is set up that Shakespeare is difficult and they are hitting the road to solve that, the movie is really about the two of them much more than the topic. We are supposed to think they are adorable funny cutups traversing the world, but they aren't adorable, they aren't particularly funny (except to themselves) and they mostly ditch the actual premise.

We get to watch them lounging around their apartments in phone-quality video, cheering that they landed an interview with some celebrity, or trying to pronounce a foreign name, or arguing about what fast food they ate. But once the interview with the celebrity finally comes along, it is extremely brief and facile, and nothing whatsoever is learned. These hallowed actors wasted their time with two dudes trying to make a name for themselves by being somehow connected to you.

Great idea, not at all what it says it is.
