At the end of the first season final Keith Urban announced he would be leaving 'The Voice' as coach. He soon after was confirmed as the new judge on American Idol: The Search for a Superstar (2002). Speculation mounted in the media on who would replace him on The Voice Australia - candidates named included Darren Hayes, Vanessa Amorosi, Natalie Imbruglia, and John Farnham. Ricky Martin was officially named as Urban's replacement on 29 November 2012.

Giving average singers false hope. Really sad.

This show makes me cringe. It's so cheesy!! I can't stand Boy George either for the reason that he is a convicted criminal in England. How the hell did he get in Australia??!! I also think that these judges should be a bit more honest to contestants rather than tell them wonderful things about their future and giving them false hope rathe than just saying that only a very small amount of contestants get anywhere after the voice. That's why I hate this show. Absolute crud.
