Down by the River

After viewing this horrible "humble" movie, I wanted to scream. It had some insinuations about the mother and son relationship. She touched, caressed her grown son too many times. Her role as the mother was muddled by her appearance and too close relationship to Skyler, the son. Skyler's position was not normal when caring for his little sister. She seems to have a fondness for him like he was her father instead of the strange man who sat at the table with a bottle of liquor in a paper bag giving demands to a child that he is not supporting-very unnatural. Unrealistic behavior within the family dynamic was too evident. Too much incestuous under tones throughout the movie. There was too much weak behavior that did not comprise a real modern black family. I was very disappointed in the casting of the players. The director did not not do a good job either, too much touching between the mother and son. The relationship between the child and her older brother was not well-defined. Overall, it was awful. I wasted my time watching this movie. movie.
