There is nothing special about this series. Don't get me wrong; I love the whole idea of vampirism in the media. It was fine when Anne Rice's "Interview with a Vampire" was popularized with the film version, but now it's getting ridiculous. With all the female attention the media are exploiting vampires. Twilight? True Blood? And now The Dark Path Chronicles?
The cinematography is overdone and the beginning sequence is especially nauseating after the 7th time, the opening taking up 48 seconds of each 5-minute long episode. I literally felt dizzy, and the opening credits made me wonder whether I should put on a pair of 3D glasses.
What little plot that actually exists comes slowly, and not in the artful and purposeful way. The acting is mediocre, but I could be wrong because I couldn't hear them half the time. The actual dialogue is half-inaudible because the melodramatic background music overtakes the audio.
Half of the whole "series" is comparable to an unsatisfying pornographic flick, with gratuitous and unexplained sex sequences.
Overall, not worth the time.
