Jacques Mesrine is a french outlaw of the late '70s, and was considered as the nº1 public enemy. He was a bank robbery, but has also a clear vision about what he was doing and had no complex about his "job". He escaped from jail quite a few times, and decided to make the war to the high security prisons until they are closed. He was murdered by the cops mainly for this reason, and because of the fame and the sympathy he inspired to the French people.
This is the best documentary about Mesrine, the most objective one. Millet is not embarrassed with morality. He has himself met Mesrine for an interview so he knows whom is speaking of. The documentary contains also interview from people that has closely known Mesrine, as his wife, his girl-friends, attorneys etc..., but also from his enemies (judges, cops, etc...)
The other documentaries are full of TV "spectacularism" and cheap, ready-made, conformist opinions. Not this one.
If you want to know who was Mesrine, don't look the recently made movies (2009), look this documentary.
