Irish Sentimentality

James A. Fitzpatrick sends the Technicolor cameras under cinematographer Ray Fernstrom to Ireland so he can shout about all those sentimental things that people have been talking about, at least since Dion Boucicault. There's a soundtrack that quotes from songs like "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" sung by tenors, which makes Fitzpatrick shut up for a few seconds.

It starts out looking at the countryside and the people there. It continues with a glance at Hope Castle, then onto Galway. The copy of this travelogue that plays on Turner Classic Movies is in fine shape, and the colors and images are sharp.
