If Julie Harris was British, there would be no question that she would have been made a Dame by now. In America, she was honored by the Kennedy Center Honors and National Medal of the Arts. Julie Harris brings to life in this one woman stage production about the life of Isak Dinesen, a remarkable eccentric Danish writer, who lived in Africa and Denmark. The play is staged as she planning a lecture tour about her life. Harris is remarkable at being unrecognizable in this production. She brings to life, this woman from one dimensional to multi-dimensional. She did the same for Emily Dickinson. The Broadway production of this play didn't last long but they taped and preserved it for possible other acting students to learn from one of America's finest masters of the stage, the wonderful Julie Harris.
