It isn't publicly known why the series ended after two years, but it may have been from a mixture of things, from Ross Higgins growing tired of his iconic role, to the rise of several cast members, to ratings and budget concerns. The cast never commented on it as many of the cast went on to successful roles in theatre or TV. Years later one member of the cast commented on a video someone shared saying ' that they had a ball filming the show'.

The bottles of champagne during the series run are clearly only half filled.
