Versioni alternative
The 2023 Shout Factory Blu-Ray features a workprint version of the film, which features extended/alternate moments, as well as a few moments of gore that were cut to earn an "R" rating instead of an "NC-17". The cut gore is as follows:
A few extra seconds of Mouse's face being chewed in the nightmare sequence with Angela.
The decapitation features extra shots of the Boy's headless body twitching and spurting blood, as well as a few extra seconds of his head bouncing on the floor.
A longer, alternate version of Shirley's "breast hands" kill is shown. In this version, she actually backs against the wall, and there is a rumbling shown under her skin. The boy walks up to her, while Angela is shown making hand motions, indicating that her hands are the ones controlling Shirley. When Shirley's breast hands finally grab the boy, a close up is shown burning his hands.

Well made film with good pacing and cast

This film reminded me of Fright Night (1985), or maybe Idle Hands (1999) in the way it was a horror with a fair of amount of humour too.

Don't take it too seriously, and I think you'll enjoy seeing the good special effects and some remarkably atmospheric scenes. True, there's not much of a story but the characters are realistically played and with some great interplay between the cast. Especially good are Zoe Trilling as Shirley, Bobby Jacoby as Perry, and Christi Harris as Bibi.

And for gore fans, there are some particularly gruesome deaths towards the end. Funniest parts were the use of supersoakers by the ninja-like Sister Gloria and the gang, and Kurt having his crotch felt by (he thought) Terri.
