Recensione in evidenza
"Hazardzisci" (Gamblers) is a relatively little-known film from 1975 describing the true events that took place in 1962 when the largest bank break-in in the history of post-war Poland was done. This break-in was not a work of professional criminals, but a group of respected citizens of the town Wolow. They used the information from a partner cashier to carry out an ingenious and successful break-in into the vault of a local bank. The film "Hazardzisci" is a meticulous and detail-oriented reconstruction of those events. We also get a glimpse into the minds of the criminals and can see their environment. The story kept me interested from the beginning to the end, and it was also the journey into Poland of the 1960s-which was my childhood. Apparently, some citizens were not happy with the world that the communist authorities had prepared for them, and they were ready to overstep the boundaries of the law. But not being professional criminals, those people also made some mistakes that professional criminals wouldn't make. For me, "Hazardzisci" is a well-made and unique in the 1970s film with good performances from some famous at that time actors, like Franciszek Trzeciak, Zygmunt Malanowicz, Henryk Bak, Witold Pyrkosz and Zdzislaw Maklakiewicz.
