When video-game enthusiast, Sarah, is transported into her favorite game, she finds herself on an intergalactic prison, home to the most dangerous villains in the galaxy. After Sarah is transported into the video game, she supposedly can't control her own movements, needing her friend Cowboy to do so through the game controller. But there are numerous times where she moves of her own volition, like at 18:16 when she says "the Space Witch" and abruptly decides to head in the opposite direction, or at 19:15 when she opts to step in front of Max Cloud to block him from entering the main deck.

Not everybody will get this right away

This movie delivers what it is advertising - pretentious title and late 80's feeling right away. An era when every video game had the majority of its story on paper or text, with 8bit graphics and chiptune music. So the target audience for this one is 40+ years and older. Yeah, the posture of the game characters is ridiculous and simple, the fights are simple, and the CGI scenes are very basic. The storyline is very straight and simple, no surprises there.

For delivering an authentic feeling this is pretty good, I first thought this was one mediocre video-to-movie story I missed in the 90's. And it is easy and cheap to do nowadays.

If you're younger or missed this era (or did not like it): better avoid this one.

So Max Cloud was quite good for me, a bit idiotic, but entertaining, I would not recommend this for young folks.
