It is a correct sketch. To lost the hearing, to adaptat to the new situation is far to be easy. The film propose, in only eight minutes, the start of this way . Sure, it seems not convincing and very supperficial. But , I suppose, it is a sort of encouragement short film. And, from this perspective, it is just correct. So, nice try to explore a difficult situation .
