Atti is a Roman teenager with brains but very little brawn. When one of his schemes falls foul of Emperor Nero (Craig Roberts) Atti is forced to join the army and sent to miserable, cold, wet Britain. Things go from bad to worse when Atti is captured by Orla, a feisty teenage Celt desperate to prove herself as a warrior. Meanwhile a furious Nero is determined to crush the British rebellion, led by Boudicca (Kate Nash). As the Romans prepare for an historic showdown with the Celts at the Battle of Watling Street, the two new friends find themselves lined up on opposite sides of the battlefield.

Fan of the TV show

I love the TV show so I thought this would be fun to see. It had the feeling that this was a great idea but then we need to fill time to make a decent running time, with little thought to the content. Some jokes overdone especially the Roman numerals. I found the funniest bits of the movie were the little references to The life of Brian, which probably shows my age. I think kids who love the show will enjoy this movie more than I.
