A zombie apocalypse has broken out in the English town of Aylesbury and a group of survivors take refuge in a shopping mall. Absolutely zero marks for originality!
There was a time when the words "zombie movie" conjured up names such as Val Lewton, George Romero and Lucio Fulci. Then Shaun of the Dead came along. Fantastic film but sadly it opened the floodgates to a deluge of bad, unoriginal zombie movies. Suddenly, everybody with a camera thought they could be the next Romero!
Aylesbury Dead is one of the worst examples. I take into account the director/writer is an amateur, working on a very low budget, so credit due for at least getting the film made. Some of the physical gore make up was reasonably good (the CGI sucked, however), the Elle character was pretty easy on the eye and effective use was made of filming locations (the shopping centre & a cinema, though I'm sure that vehicles can be heard driving, maybe zombies can drive!?). The sound was very poor at times, even with the volume on max I struggled at times to hear what was being said. Continuity was really bad. But, aside from the lack of originality, it is the acting that really kills this movie. Quite possibly the worst I have had the misfortune to endure, and that's saying something! This was averaging 5.7/10, with 13 votes. No doubt some of them were from people connected with it, but given time, should people subject themselves to watching this, that score will plummet to a realistic one.
