I love this film, but you have to see it for yourself! NO spoilers but here's a bit of info: "Skinned" follows a young woman named Jolie, played by Jasmine Burke, who is tormented in school for being darker complected. And I mean really tormented. There was one particular moment that was especially jarring. As a result, when she gets older Jolie decides to bleach her skin "in an attempt to capture the heart of the perfect suitor…" The bleaching also leads to the detriment of her health.
