"Tempete Ensoleillee" (Sunny Tempest), concert work for 14 strings. Commission from the London Sinfonietta and the Royal Academy of Music, London. Noises represent nature noises, wind, objects that move on the ground and hit the trees, cracking branches... The light in the music represents the sun, and the absence of light, the darkness of the sky. Melodies represent impressions, emotions... Among people in the audience who went to see me after the concert, was a woman in her 60-70s who said: i was very scared, it was reminding me when i was walking in the woods at night!" i did not provide the audience any technical or explanatory notes. I was hence extremely happy to see that all these people's impressions were the images and emotions i wanted to show in my music.
