She won the Inaugural Sixth Form Essay Competition in late 2018, which was conducted by Compass Magazine, part of Cambridge University's Geography publication. Her essay was titled: "How are climate change and the patriarchy creating a generation of child brides?" She won on behalf of Wimbledon High School, from a total of over 150 other entries from around the country.
With the effects of environmental degradation and climate change posing ever more imminent threats, magnified by rising populations and demands on finite resources, the world's most 'vulnerable' marginalised groups, including women, are facing increased insecurity throughout the developing world.
