"The Foreigner", at its heart, is about finding a calmness, a peace through the storm. From the very beginning, the main character experiences a loneliness, a longing to be a bigger part of the world around her, and she finds that ray of light upon a chance encounter. The film is about LGBTQ awareness, but also addresses abuse awareness. It discusses love, and what that means when one person finds herself surrounded by indifference in a relationship. It highlights her strength, and a need to be more than what she's used to in her life, and how these choices affect the road she journeys. Cinematography was well done, especially in some of the shots where the director of photography mirrored the feel of the loneliness the main character finds herself in, despite being in a big world. Miroslav and Simona continuously improve their craft, and it is nice to see Simona maintain strength in a film that also sheds lights on abuse, which so many in this world face. Congratulations to the entire team, including the wonderful music composer who continuously outdoes himself with the score. It's wonderful to see people constantly driven to improve their craft and create something meaningful.
