Frustrating film. So much potential in the concept but it was all just flushed down the toilet and the script just lost its way. It just didn't seem to know where to go.
Mia the sole survivor of a family massacre as a child makes so many stupid decisions I ended up rooting for the killer.
Everything was supposedly so meticulously planned yet she constantly put herself in harms way and never got on with what she was there to do.
Idiotic, reckless decisions had me saying "what the hell is she doing?" out loud. But I persisted hoping it would turn around.
Unfortunately things just got dumber and dumber until everything was just so highly implausible I was willing it to end. And luckily it was only a short film and saw free on Tubi or id have been annoyed. Ha ha.
The FX are OK. It's well acted by the two main leads (the cop and Mias old man lover are kinda weak and irritating)
The first half hour had potential but I just can't get past why she did all the reckless stuff when she had him 'bang to rights' secured to a chair.
A weak attempt at adding some sort of connection other than victim/aggressor was made which was quite frankly laughable.
The ending rushed and unsatisfying.
This must be a first time director. And I'm sure it was cheap as only cast of 4 people and one location.
I guess they worked best they could with what they had and the script them must have made up as filmed. Ha.
