I have had a fair share of K-drama experience, and I do watch it here and there expecting exactly the expected, some usual clichés, comedy with goofy music, the talking out loud parts to explain the audience, and its fine, I like it, I dive in this every once in a while to just lay back and enjoy with little to no worries.
Then this show comes up, I try to go for a show without going much into the plot but rather the genre I am in mood for. Sadly I read a single line that did mention kidnapping, but to my surprise that did not ruin anything at all for me.
The show starts off with this right from the get go, and its freaking great start off with the music, the character intro, the location and moves well with each new interesting scenes, and if you are going to enjoy the first episode, then I am sure you would love the rest with the ending. Now I did start off big with comparing with others cos it is, it is definitely different from others. Well atleast for me it is, the show surprised me with some of the elements, the characterization felt organic, for every character, the actors did good, when I try to think back about it, sure there were some incidents of typical drama stuff but it just went over me to notice it when I was watching it, cos show was kinda raw and felt very different while engaging and fun.
Also if you are a K-drama viewer like me, you would have also noticed alot of these shows have 13+ mostly 15-16 episodes per season, and that doesnt make necessarily bad for all shows, there is definitely a forced stretch in these kind of shows, the difference is how each show executes them, shows like Stranger , The good detective did well for me, I didnt get bored. So a bonus for me with this show was the 8 episodes, which I feel is the right amount, definitely the right amount for a K-drama.
Definitely worth the watch if you like crime, thriller, not your usual K-drama that's for sure.
