On Wednesday, 26th January 2022, Channel 4 Television announced that in conjunction with HBO Max they have commissioned Workerbee to produce an expanded and reformatted second series of the reality TV show. The 8-episode second series will be presented by AJ Odudu, adventurer and explorer Aldo Kane will join the show to oversee the challenges. Series two will be filmed in Vietnam and the two teams of contestants will have to build a bridge over 1,000 feet of water in just 12 days to recover the £200,000 prize money held on top of "Fortune Rock".

A bridge to nowhere

After the unmitigated disaster of Eden (2016), Channel 4's last great wilderness-challenge-slash-social-experiment-slash-reality-show, I suppose we ought to have known that merely adding a grab-the-cash element would only make The Bridge worse rather than better. And it didn't disappoint in that regard. The Bridge was yet another dollop of dull, dishonest, unutterably futile rubbish - quintessential Channel 4 viewing, in fact.
