Season 1: Season 1 revolves around 3 girls athira, riya and shraddha living in a flat. They feel that a person called mythreyan tarakovsky is stalking them as their daily activities are uploaded in his Facebook account. They try to find him by interrogating each and every men they know but don't find anything. In the end, they vacate from the flat.
What we love in karikku is its fresh humor but unfortunately there is hardly any humor in this. The story is interesting but it is hardly developed as the episodes are too short. When we start getting intrigued by the plot the show ends abruptly. Karikku boys jeevan and krishnachandran were the only saving grace of the show. Sabareesh was introduced with a massive buildup but ends with a damp squib. On the whole, season 1 was a massive disappointment.
Season 2: Athira, riya and shraddha shift to shraddha's ancestral house. One day, athira gets kidnapped and riya calls athira's sister arya to help finding her. She finds mytreyan was their house owner. After few days, those kidnappers leave athira back to the house. Athira tells them that they planned to kidnap shraddha not her. Panicked shraddha requests arya to find out that kidnapper. Rest of the show is how they find the kidnapper and his motive.
Plotwise, season 2 is a big improvement over season 1. Episodes are long enough to develop the plot. But the show gets interesting only after athira returns back. Before that there is all those crass slapstick comedy featuring those kidnappers. In this also the highlight are the karikku boys. Anu proves once again that he is a powerhouse performer. Kiran also performed a different role well. Arjun's character was unnecessary but still it was good to see him. Nileen sandra gives a subtle performance as arya. Show also ends pretty well.
On the whole, karikku's first project with a female cast is saved majorly by the karikku boys.
