Most celebrity-based reality shows start with a group that has no experience, struggle at first then get marginally better as time goes on. On some shows you can see dramatic improvements over time (the various dancing shows are a good example) but they are doing essentially the same thing week to week with variations on a theme but with shows that have constantly changing skills you expect them to struggle. Not so with this program. In a one-off challenge they show skills that a typical home cook who practices week in and week out would struggle to keep up with. One particularly egregious challenge had them working with pastry and coming out with creations that would make a full time chef green with envy, all with zero prior experience. If it isn't totally fake their hands are held so close they may as well have been joined at the hip with a pastry chef. Food pairings, flavor pairings, presentation at a level that should be so far over their heads it would take a space shuttle to get there, all in a matter of weeks. Truly insulting to people who try to improve their skills.
