When I sat down to view this film, I did not know what to expect. Zameroski previously directed and wrote a film in 1997 called Bartender and this particular film follows a similar thematic structure, of struggles against society. Whereas the last one had a struggling bartender, this one has a little girl. The audience can imagine the struggle the girl is going through and the acceptance she feels in the presence of a father figure. The performance of Joe Rosenast stands out. The cool, calm smoker added a certain Joe Montana factor to the scenes he appeared in. Perl also does a good job, bringing in a standout performance. His presence in the movie is noticeable and the part could only be played by him. A good film. Would recommend, along with the Bartender, another classic by Zameroski.
