In homage to the classic Marvel series "What If?", this game has a "What If?" mode that can be accessed by the password screen, introduced by the Watcher (as the original comics were). With this mode on, you can play through the game and observe the (frequently hilarious) changes that have taken place. Changes range from insignificant alterations to complete deviations from the original premise. It is not present in the Nintendo 64 version.

Once again we find our hero Peter Parker, better known around the world as the amazing Spider-Man, in a heap of trouble. But this is just the beginning, Spidey fans. So get ready for a true superhero action thriller, packed to the brim with thrills and chills, twists and turns, more super-villains than you can shake a web at, and of course, non-stop web-slinging, wall-crawling action.

The best super hero game ever

This game fully grasped everything there is about Spider-Man, from the wall crawling to the web slinging. A definite plus was having other Marvel characters like Captain America and the Human Torch make cameos. Throughout the game Spider-Man faces off against Scorpion, Rhino, Venom, Doctor Octopus, Carnage and a boss exclusive to the game, among others. The only flaw to the game is that it is too short and to easy. It's only about six levels long and is not as challenging as you would expect. Hey, I beat the game a day or so after I got it. Still, this is an excellent game and I highly recommend it.
