Tony Toponi, from An American Tail (1986), returns as a principal cast in this film and An American Tail: The Mystery of the Night Monster (1999), which he was known as a fan favorite, but without Bridget. Tony's role was limited as a background cameo in An American Tail: Fievel Goes West (1991) and was absent in Fievel's American Tails (1992) because of Pat Musick's acting difficulties during those periods.

In Fievel's American Tails (1992), Papa Mousekewitz's first name is revealed to be Bernard. But in this movie, his first name is seldom mentioned, such as in one scene after Mr. Grasping asked him for his name and Papa mentioned and is referred to his last name. The reason for this is currently unknown.

How do they grow crops in a tunnel underground?

The entire premise of this movie is completely ridiculous. This tribe of indians is living underground and they can survive without light, they can grow crops too. It does try to present a moral cause, but the unwillingness of Feivals father to do anything about their situation seems counter to the character he became in the original. And the animation is terrible.
