Debbie Does Las Vegas

Some pornographers are like Terrence Malick -they pore over their work and hone a few movies to a sort of perfection (for the genre). Others, like Ray Dennis Steckler, fall into the busy little beaver camp (think D'Amato, Sarno, Franco), cranking out product as if there were no tomorrow.

DEBBIE DOES LAS VEGAS, despite its spoofy title is merely a case of misdirecting the customer's attention, and then slipping him (I doubt if any women were takers back in the day) another compilation of worthless loops and stag films.

The Debbie of the title is Native American porn performer Debbie Truelove, Steckler's low rent answer to Janette Littledove. Just to make things more generic, picture opens with Debbie rollerskating past the Las Vegas casinos on the strip, as close to a trademark as RDS can get.

Narrator informs us that Debbie is taking us on a scenic tour of Vegas, but neglects to inform that the next hour is more akin to an Elks Lodge meeting where cigars are smoked and stag films projected. At least that was before the Supreme Court circa 1970 approved pornography for public exhibition and a pseudo-art form was born.

Not much artistry to stag film #1: with disco music blaring a busty girl masturbates with a dildo, supposedly a friend of Debbie's. Our guide next visits friend Andrea, but that takes us across the continent to the Big Apple where Andrea True and Helen Madigan use a double dong dildo in vintage lesbo loop action. Supposedly Debbie's peering in through the window (typical RDS connective device) but this is more like a wormhole in terms of distance.

Loop #3 is fresher: Debbie in her hotel room masturbating with a dildo. For variety a Black couple humps in the next stag, which has racist dialog dubbed in (whole film is shot MOS plus silent loops). Debbie's impressed with the brother's big dick, per voice-over.

Lesbians rule in the next loop, followed by lesbian action between Debbie and a psychiatrist who looks like a hooker - this one is accompanied by more racist voice-over, this time aimed at Debbie's Native American ancestry.

Stag #7 has two porno actors at home rehearsing a scene (nudge, nudge) in which a vibrator is involved, and Debbie masturbates as she peeps. Lily Foster/Antoinette Maynard appears in next segment, a loop about lesbian troilism as two hotel guests have their way with the French maid, A guy suddenly interrupts them and faints -supposedly he is Mexican facilitating some more racist remarks on the soundtrack.

Still with her skates on, Debbie gives a blow job to a guy, eliciting the only mildly racist remark: "I been captured by Injuns!". The blonde "psychiatrist" returns and peeps at Debbie during 2 money shots. When the doc joins in for a threesome, there is a third cum shot in succession -an impressive performance.

This sad excuse of a movie ends with Debbie falling down on the sidewalk, a victim of her own roller skating fetish. It's the same ending befalling John Holmes in the unsigned movie "California Girl", adding confirmation to Steckler's authorship of that roller-skating epic too.
