Batman: The Animated Series

Tim Curry was initially cast as the Joker, having also been considered for the role in बैटमैन (1989), and it was long rumored that his portrayal was deemed "too scary." In reality, Curry had recorded four episodes, but dropped out after developing Bronchitis. The role went to Mark Hamill, who had already been cast as one-off character Ferris Boyle in Heart of Ice (1992). Curry ended up providing additional voices in a handful of episodes.

This series' Batmobile, with its extremely long hood, would be totally impractical for the needs of a crime-fighter, such as weaving through traffic and making tight turns at corners.

Despite being invariably referred to as "Batman--The Animated Series" (until the changes in title, tone, and additional screen time for Robin for the second season), the series had NO on-screen title.

When "The New Batman Adventures" uses this show's intro instead of that of "The New Batman/Superman Adventures," the Warner Bros. Family Entertainment logo appears before the Warner Bros. Animation logo.
