I want to say straight away that I love the previous film, so I was expecting this to be a ripper. However, this time around with Danny Lee replacing Chow Yun Fat and a really weak script , I am sad to say Tiger On Beat 2 falls flat. Don't get me wrong, I like Danny Lee. He is great in cop roles and is in a million of cop movies. Just give me any of those other movies over this. He has zero chemistry with co star Conan Lee and while Danny Lee is a fine dramatic actor, he is not so good in a comedy. Much of the attempts at such come off as aloof and silly. Thankfully this movie has some action to fall back on. This is a Hong Kong movie, so the fight scenes and action/stunts naturally look amazing (even if there are lots of better HK action movies to watch). Tiger On Beat 2 is not brilliant to say the least, but it is not unwatchable and worth watching for a few cool action sequences.
