This film is edited together from the first season of the Madicken (1979) TV series but only about half as long. Two episodes were completely cut: One where Mrs. Nilsson, Madicken's neighbor, testaments her body to science after death and one when they celebrate Christmas. Also, a narrator was added, namely Astrid Lindgren herself, the writer of the Madicken books.

Madicken is one of the greatest things I know

The book, it's art-work, the background of Astrid Lindgren of 1st worldwar times one the side. The fantastic series and film with great actors on the other side make the film to a swedish classic which I already saw as child on TV. I could write pages but the film and the series are deeply underestimated and something which went lost in our times.
