Lathe Joshi (2018)
Brief Review -
Cinema is OUTDATED just like our lives & thoughts and here's THE CINEMATIC UPDATE. Lathe Joshi might leave different impact on different ages, especially on the old age and matured people. I am a young guy but i could feel the upcoming days through this fiilm so it left a different impact on me too. Our regular audience who is happy with regular films needs to look at it as the chance to update your film taste. And for the filmmakers too, it shows how to update the mainstream filmmaking into new quality terms. The film is about a Mr. Joshi, known for his skilled work on Lathe machine is left unemployed after the automobile replaces him. Not only in the work field but he's outdated even in real life for his wife and son who are attracted to modernization. At last he realises the unavoidable truth of the life which takes the course of the biggest philosophy of any human life. Like the other mainstream films, Lathe Joshi doesn't offer too much of drama or any other cinematic entertaining elements but the narrative here never loses its hold over the context. When it comes in realistic proportions it feels even better as an viewing experience. May be little bit of USP fractors could have been added in the middle portion when it becomes predictable. Nevertheless, it has that enough grip and moreover the quality remains intact which doesn't let you go away with any further complaints. There are four main characters and everyone does full justice to their character. Artificial background music is less and that's intentional because the it uses more of real noises. Cinematography is top class and highly effective, one can learn about the skill just from these frames. I had never heard of Director Mangesh Joshi but from now on i will remember his name because of this Pure Cinematic Gem. His upcoming projects would be in my watchlist and the reason is Goodwill earned by Lathe Joshi.
