I have to say, that for me, it was very important to work as script supervisor on
Moartea domnului Lazarescu (2005) after finishing university. It was the most important professional experience I got. I learned a lot from
Cristi Puiu. I worked with him on several projects, and in a way, it was like film school, way more important than the university education I got in Bucharest. I also think his role was important in a wider sense - he was the one who inspired a lot of filmmakers, for example
Radu Jude, who also started as an assistant director on "Lazarescu". So although an outsider might be better equipped to see this, I'm sure I'm very influenced by him and the rest of Romanian cinema.[2015]
