Catherine Kresge is the daughter of a Korean immigrant and a now-retired Army Lt. Col. from Buffalo, New York. She was born on a military base and moved frequently as a child. She graduated from the University of Arizona (Summa Cum Laude) with a BA in Political Science where she was classically trained in the theater, receiving her BFA in Acting as well.
