Davis had an affair with Gene Autry, who discovered her
and put her in many of his westerns and produced her starring series
Annie Oakley (1954). The affair lasted for many years.
[1982] Annie Oakley had to deal with the same ruthless characters - rustlers and killers - that the cowboys dealt with. And she did it without ever killing one of them.
