In my role as National Ambassador for UNICEF I've found that a people,
a culture is as good as the stories it tells about itself. Our stories
tell us who we think we were, are, and will become. It's through our
stories that we imbue the ethics, morals and values that are key to the
survival of a culture and its people. A child asking to be told a story
again is reaching for a tool that will serve a lifetime. When a
people's story telling falters they have lost a clear sense of who they
are and their world is in decline.
