He acted in Peter Luke's play, "Hadrian VII," in a Chichester Festival Production at the Chichester Festival Theatre in Chichester, West Sussex, England with Derek Jacobi, Joseph O'Conor, James Maxwell, John Savident, Philip Anthony, Michael Malnick, Rosemary Martin, Helena McCarthy, and Malcolm Mudie in the cast. Terry Hands was director.
He and wife Honor Blackman amicably divorced in 1975. She later helped nurse him back to health when he suffered from cancer in the early 1990s. Sadly, the cancer returned and he died in 1997.
